What this app is (and isn't)
CheckedIn is a medication reminder and adherence-logging app. It does not contain a drug database, does not check for drug interactions, does not recommend dosages, and does not diagnose or predict any medical condition. It only stores what you tell it: medication names, dose descriptions, schedules, and whether a dose was marked taken or skipped.
What we collect
- If you use CheckedIn without an account (the default), your medication list, schedule, and dose history stay on your device only. We never see it.
- If you create an account (to link a caregiver), we store your email address, the medication/schedule/dose-history information you've entered, and the caregiver link(s) you set up.
- If you're invited as a caregiver, we store your email address and read-only access to the schedule/adherence information of the senior(s) who invited you.
How we use it
Solely to run the reminder, logging, and caregiver-visibility features described above: scheduling notifications, showing adherence history, and alerting a linked caregiver if a dose is missed. We do not sell data, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone other than a caregiver you've explicitly invited.
Consent & caregiver linking
Linking a caregiver requires an explicit invite from the person managing their own medications, and explicit acceptance by the caregiver. A caregiver only ever gets read-only visibility into schedule/adherence data: never edit access, and never anything beyond what's needed to see whether doses are being taken.
Storage & security
Account data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored on a server we control. We do not use a third-party analytics or advertising SDK in this app.
Data export & deletion
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time directly in the app. See Delete My Account for details.
Cross-border storage
CheckedIn's backend may be hosted outside your province or country. By creating an account, you consent to your information being processed in that location, subject to the safeguards described here.
